In the run up to Christmas 2013, CRS were approached by the UKs largest retailer, Tesco to provide a last minute solution to a refrigerated storage issue. The client needed an extra capacity of at least 19 more pallet spaces for chilled goods storage just weeks before Christmas. CRS quoted for and provided a 40ft refrigeration unit with a 19 pallet capacity. The product provided featured a raised T-section floor, an easy clean food grade interior and standard double leaf container doors. The container was fitted with a Carrier refrigeration unit to efficiently store products at the required 4˚C.
Tesco were looking for a quick solution due to the time limits presented by the Christmas supermarket retail peak. Critical to maximizing the high profit opportunity of the period was the availability of sufficient chilled storage for product turnaround and a quick delivery.
Thanks to the design of CRS refrigerated containers, a solution was able to be installed within 24 hours from initial contact. With no planning permission required, no extensive paperwork demanded and the exact unit in stock ready to be commissioned on site by an expert, Tesco has thanked CRS for the prompt and efficient service provided.
