People and Gardens contacted CRS Cold Storage for assistance with provisioning a cold store to help with the production of fruit and vegetables from local land in the Eden Project.
The People and Gardens scheme gives those with physical and emotional disabilities the opportunity to learn all aspects of growing and selling vegetables, from sowing seeds and potting on, to planting and harvesting, to weighing and packing. It is now so successful that they supply all of the Eden Project's kitchens and with the produce mounting up it was time for some cold storage experts to step in!
The group needed a chiller unit to store the products in before they went for preparation in the kitchens. They had a tight budget and constrained power supplies, but still needed a grade A chiller to store their produce.
CRS stepped in by fitting a new single phase power unit onto a grade A refrigeration container while keeping within budget and still delivering within the timeframes needed.
People and Gardens were delighted with their new unit and with our driver's help in getting things set up and ready to go, as you can see from their delighted feedback to us below.
Would you please pass on our heartfelt thanks to Willie, the driver who delivered our unit to Watering Lane nursery. From the moment he arrived with a big beaming smile to the time he left with a smile and a wave it was a joy to have him around.
It isn't often you come across someone who takes such a pride in their work and who is determined to be so helpful, pleasant, commited to customer satisfaction and who is prepared to carry out such a difficult job with such humour.
He is a credit to his organisation and we do want to let the relevant people know.
Please tell him that if he is ever in the area and wishes to visit the Eden project as our guest then we would be delighted to show him around.
